Top 13 Signs She’s About to Dump You

1 She is going on a cruise with her girlfriends and only tells you three days before the ship departs.

2 She complains that you never give her what she wants, and never have.

3 While together with you, she answers and makes cell phone calls, and talks at length, as through you were not even there.

4 She talks about how her parents don’t approve of the relationship because of your different religion or ethnic background.

5 She criticizes you with hurtful words, such as “stupid, dumb, immature, irresponsible, silly, not grown up, mama’s boy."

6 Or she stops all criticism, since she knows she’ll soon be gone (i.e., she stops complaining about you always leaving the toilet seat up).

7 She doesn’t spend time making herself pretty and dressing nicely for you.

8 She always used to want you to pay attention and listen to her now when you two talk, she doesn’t seem focused or really listening to you.

9 If you live together, she starts coming home later and is unenthusiastic when she gets home.

10 She stops taking you with her when she gets together with her friends or with her family.

11 Aside from sex, which may continue, she stops touching you and being playful out of bed.

12 You notice a US Post Office change of address packet on her bedside table.

13 If you do still see some of her friends, they don’t seem as lively and friendly, because they know you are shortly going to be history.

Do you have any other signs that you want to share with me?

This is not a very scientific list and I doubt it would be considered very helpful to someone concerned about their relationship. I will now “rebut” several of these assertions:

Numbers 1, 3, 5 and 10 are just disrespectful behaviors and might have little to do with getting dumped and neither member of the relationship should tolerate such behaviors. Number 5 is commonly termed “verbal abuse” and this behavior alone should result in one member breaking it off with the abusive individual.

Number 2 is a normal issue in all relationships and is a very valid complaint as over time humans take others for granted. If the partner is voicing this issue then it needs to be taken serious in most cases.

Number 4 is a very, very serious issue; ALL women take their relationships very serious, especially with their parents. It is very important that a man understand and respect this and “tries” to come to terms with the parent’s reservations about their daughter dating a man not of their choice.

Number 7 might have little to do with the relationship, but could be contributed to several different issues, such as depression. To even put this as an example shows the poster’s lack of understanding of others feelings or issues. A woman, or man, cannot spend their lives always getting “pretty” for the spouse or significant other; this is unrealistic and selfish.

Numbers 9 and 11 are possibly the only two realistic signs on this list; coming home late is a possible sign of cheating and a lack of intimacy is also a sign of cheating or that the relationship is on the rocks.

Number 12 makes no sense what-so-ever, maybe if we find a different brand of tampons we should assume that the woman is going to break off the relationship. This just establishes paranoia in the relationship and a simple question as to why she has it might clear up the issue.

Number 13 could be contributed to the fact that her friends don’t like the man in her life and not because she is going to break-up with him. In this case the man needs to ensure he provides the support she is asking so he retains the most influence in her life and is not swayed by bad friends.

I guess if these “signs” had not come from a book called: “Sex Secrets of an American Geisha: How to Attract, Satisfy, and Keep Your Man” then they might not seem so… hmmm “bogus” and unempirical.
